Next advertising campaign
Saturday, 01 March 2008

With the spectatcular failure of the True Local ad that ran through January and February I have been looking for a more cost effective advertising media.Go Transit

During my travels between locations on the Central Coast I ended up behind a bus advertising a $295 per month ad offer. Seeing as I had just spent $1100 for a one month campaign in True Local for a small ad, $295 a month for the entire back of a bus didn't seem so expensive.

Thursday morning rolled around and I had a meeting With Hellen from Go Transit, the advertising company. I can now say that for $295 a month for 12 months I will be getting the entire back of a bus, as well as graphics design for the ad and printing.

Because the ad will run for 12 months it will be hard to compare it to the True Local ad but even if I get 1 call from the bus ad for 3 months, the cost to profit will still be roughly the same.

Once the ad has been finalised and put up on the bus I will post a photo of the ad.

One less ISP worth using
Saturday, 09 February 2008

Disclaimer: The following is editorial and not pure facts, as such this article is based on the experiences of the writer only.

This week the news broke that the ISP owner by SP Telemedia (Soul) will be joining forces with TPG networks.

In the past I have used TPG for my internet access, and while their prices might be alright their service was less than average. over the 6 months I was with TPG for my internet, I had multiple drop outs each day. Their customer service is not full of service, the same as their tech support, due to out sourcing of both,  are the same.

While Soul's prices were higher than TPG, and TPG is one of the fastest providers rolling out ADSL 2+ fast internet access I can't see their merger as anything more than another ISP I won't use or recommend to any one else.

Should I really be surprised
Saturday, 09 February 2008

As I continue building the business and meet and answer more people's questions I begin to see a conflict that appears to to high prices large businesses charge for new computers.

I have over the years gained contacts and opportunities from Microsoft that many people would like to get. As such I have a very strong ethic when it comes to installing programmes on anybody's computer.

I'm all for free programmes, in fact I have already posted the always growing collection of free, and legal programmes on this very site. You can read the list by clicking here , however there are a lot of people who will build a computer for you and then install an illegal copy of many programmes on the computer for you. This is wrong in a lot of ways.

Advertising test

True localOne of the toughest things when starting a new business is getting the news out in the public that your are open for business.

The first round of advertising I undertook was an ad in the Central Coast Express Advocate True Local classifieds.

With only one week left on the four week run I can now say what my thoughts are on  this form of advertising.

A new start
Sunday, 20 January 2008

This week sees the brand new start of Clicksonline.info as a business.Ad.gif

After months of doing little bits here and there on peoples computers, this week will see the company advertise for the first time. On the right you can see the ad that will be running in the Express Advocate over the next 4 weeks in the True Local section. I already have a minimum target in mind for the ad to prove successful, if it is a success I will be taking my advertising even further in the year with other advertising opertunities opening up.

If this is the your first time at Clicksonline.info after reading the ad, thank you for coming. Have a look around the site, you never can tell you might find something that will help you get the most out of your personal technology.

Here's hoping for a successful 2008 and a chance to do something on a full time basis that I like and I'm always being told I should do.
